Goodyear’s Golden Ticket Could Put You Aboard an Iconic Airship

Want to Ride the Goodyear Blimp? You Could Win a Flight! Goodyear is offering one lucky winner and a guest the chance to fly aboard one of its iconic airships—but the clock is ticking.

Getting a ride aboard a Goodyear Blimp has never been easy. Passenger flights are extremely limited and are primarily reserved for Goodyear customers, invited guests and charitable organizations. Now, however, Goodyear is offering the public a chance to win a flight through its Golden Ticket Sweepstakes.

Flying in a Blimp Isn’t Easy—But It Could Be Free
Using the slogan “Blimpin’ Ain’t Easy, but It Just Got a Lot Easier,” Goodyear launched its latest sweepstakes on Sept. 15, 2026. The promotion runs through Oct. 15, giving eligible U.S. residents a limited window to enter for a chance to experience one of the world’s best-known airships. And, best of all, no purchase is necessary to be eligible.

What the Goodyear Blimp Prize Includes
One winner will receive a flight certificate for themselves and one guest, redeemable at any of Goodyear’s three U.S. airship bases: Wingfoot Lake near Akron, Ohio; Pompano Beach, Florida; or Carson, California.

The certificate is valid for one year from verification, with the flight subject to availability, weather and Goodyear’s operating schedule. Transportation, accommodation and other expenses associated with getting to the selected base are not included.

The flight will take place aboard one of Goodyear’s 246-ft (75-m) Zeppelin NT semi-rigid airships. Although commonly called blimps, the current Goodyear aircraft are technically semi-rigid airships rather than true blimps.

How to Enter Goodyear’s Golden Ticket Sweepstakes
The sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are at least 18 years old. There is no purchase necessary, as entrants can submit the official online entry form through Goodyear’s website.

Buying four tires can provide additional opportunities to enter. A qualifying four-tire purchase made through Goodyear.com provides four entries, while customers purchasing four tires at a Goodyear Auto Service location can receive a card with a QR code directing them to the entry form.

The promotion closes at 11:59 p.m. ET on Oct. 15, 2026, with one potential winner scheduled to be selected in a random drawing on or around Oct. 30.

Why Goodyear Blimp Rides Are So Hard to Get
The reason flights are so hard to come by is that they are not offered for sale; Goodyear doesn’t sell ordinary passenger rides aboard its airships. Instead, the limited passenger flights are generally associated with customers, special guests and charitable fundraising.

Goodyear also provides flight certificates to nonprofit organizations, which can turn a rare blimp ride into a significant fundraising opportunity. In 2025, two seats aboard a Goodyear Blimp raised $15,100 for Akron’s Bounce Innovation Hub.

The fundraising program has been remarkably successful, and Goodyear says its blimp certificates have generated more than $1.5 million for charitable causes over the past five years.

A Century of Goodyear Airships
The Golden Ticket sweepstakes comes just a year after Goodyear celebrated the 100th anniversary of its blimp program. June 3, 2025, marked the centennial of the first Goodyear blimp flight, which took place in Akron in 1925. The company marked the occasion with a year-long celebration and a 100-plus-city tour, along with its “Buy for a Chance to Fly” sweepstakes.

That 2025 promotion awarded three winners a flight certificate for two, plus a $3,000 travel and accommodation voucher. The current Golden Ticket promotion is more exclusive: one winner, one guest and one very unusual opportunity to see the world from the gondola of a Goodyear airship.
